Joule Hair, formerly known as Hair Affair, has been in business for 28 years and is owned by Julie. When the salon was first established, it quickly gained popularity, and within 18 months, it had grown so much that Julie had to move it to larger premises on Manchester  Road, where it continues to trade today.

Over the years, Julie has not only grown her business but also pursued her passion for teaching and training learners. She has acquired several assessor and teaching qualifications and has worked for some of the largest training providers in the North West for 17 and a half years. Julie has played an active role in teaching and training learners of all ages to help them achieve their NVQs.

Her passion for teaching did not stop there. Julie has progressed further into a Lead Quality Assurance role, where she was responsible for ensuring the quality of the accredited centers for hairdressing, barbering, teaching, and functional skills over a ten-year period.

Julie’s dedication to training and education led her to become an Independent End Point Assessor for City & Guilds, where she assesses the hairdressing and barbering professional standards.

In 2020, Julie took her passion for teaching and training to the next level by opening a training academy to deliver VTCT courses in complementary therapies, barbering, training and education, and mental health. The academy has been a huge success, resulting in the salon moving to even larger premises in 2022 to accommodate the growing demand for the courses.

Joule Hair now offers a wide range of services, including hairdressing, barbering techniques, beauty, holistics, nails, make-up, and complementary therapies. Julie’s team of friendly stylists has over thirty years of experience between them, and they are continuously updating their skills by gaining qualifications and attending courses as part of their continuous professional development.
